Hi! CARE Travel designer Morgan here. Niki and I had the opportunity to attend the Caribbean Wedding Industry Awards and Expo in Jamaica earlier this month. I wanted to share our experience with you all! Keep reading for our most recent EXCITING news!
Caribbean Wedding Industry Awards and Expo
Niki and I started our adventure at Club MoBay. For those of you who are not familiar, Club MoBay is a VIP service in the Montego Bay airport. Let me just tell you that it is SO worth it. Upon arrival I was greeted with a cold towel, some snacks, and a rum punch, which was exactly what I needed after a red eye flight. Once Niki arrived we were picked up by our favorite Jamaican transfer company and checked into our first hotel for the week, Jewel Grande Montego Bay.
That night we started the fun with a welcome cocktail reception at the breathtaking Rose Hall Great Hall (if you don’t believe me just look at these photos I took!!). During this time Niki and I were able to meet and network with travel agents, wedding planners, and other wedding/travel industry professionals. The following day focused on learning and being inspired by wedding professionals. These topics varied from upcoming trends for 2019 honeymoons and weddings, to hidden gems in Jamaica, and the importance of defining our CARE Travel brand.

Now I have to be completely honest, when Niki asked me to join her I didn’t even realize there was an awards dinner. I actually didn’t really know much about this trip besides we’d get meet some of the best wedding industry professionals, and I’d be able to sneak in a few resort site inspections. Niki casually mentioned the awards dinner a few weeks before we left. So imagine my surprise when Niki ever so nonchalantly said that CARE Travel was one of the nominees for Travel Agent of the Year Award. Anyways, the night for the awards ceremony arrives, we’ve finished the cocktail portion, have gone through the line for the variety of food stations (which was delicious by the way- I’m all about the food when I travel), and the awards start.
When it comes to the Travel Agent of the Year Award category, I look at Niki and she has a look of excitement, but also absolute terror, on her face. One thing you need to know about Niki is she sometimes forgets that we are a prominent travel agency because we’re a smaller team located in Manhattan, Kansas. The most important thing to her, and all of us agents at CARE Travel, is that we’re providing our clients the best travel experience of a lifetime. We truly care about our clients and their vacation. Next thing I know the emcee says
“The winner of the Travel Agent of the Year Award is CARE Travel”
